I may have bought this issue of Elle Spain just for the grin of the model on the cover. Thinking about it, I really couldn't care less for the rest of the editorial!... It's the kind of smile that exercises all the muscles in your face and turns your eyes into two lashy slits, oh sweet braceless smile! (sigh) someday...

Nine D'urso (Ines de la Fressange's daughter!) in Bottega Veneta's ad for it's first perfume, directed by Bruce Weber. I simply loved the whole thing: the girl,the make up, the dress, the direction, even the boring nostalgil music!

And since we were talking about Ines de la Fressange (No we weren't): This videos were taken during Cannes film festival, and apparently it's a tradition for the embassadors of the brand to flaunt themselves during said festival, get beautiful, attend some premiers... that kind of really hard stuff brand embassadors have to do.

And family attending Royal Wedding at Monaco (I'm telling you!she's got a reaaaally tough life) apparently wearing non-Roger Vivier shoes is a no no chez Ines!

Au contraire of what many of you may think, I do not post EVERY Audrey Hepburnish editorial I come across (although my blog speaks quite the contrary!). It's very rare to find one that truuuuly captures the spirit because nowadays it seems you put a pretty brunette a little black dress and voilà! the new Audrey!
I firmly dislike copycats, but I do like editorials that include sunny beaches, pretty smiling girls and puppies(!) so there you go! Gorgeous Lily Collins (daughter of Phil Collins) by Roger Erdmann on Tatler magazine...

Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2011, the look.

So, as much as I adore watching the whole sparkles-all-over-with-very-black-eyeshadow-for-a-more-zombie-like-look editorial looks, I firmly believe in wearing what makes you look and feel pretty. Which in my case is the I-spent-3-hours-on-the-bathroom-applying-makeup-so-I-look-like-I-wear-no-makeup-at-all kind of look.
That may be the reason I am simply in love with the look at Dolce & Gabbana's Spring 2011 show, because it looks natural but not as if you just washed your face with water and soap and then just run off the door. And it's definitely something everyone can pull off, every model looked gorgeous. Just take a look for yourselves:

In allure.com they made a report on how to achieve this look, so here it comes.
In case you are a lazy kind of person here, These are my impressions:
-Flawless complexion.
-Metallic/matte medium brown eyeshadow lining upper and lower lashes and crease, and a light gold-dustey one on the brow bone and inner corner of the eye.
-Eyeliner only on top.
-Slightly defined eyebrows.
-Extreme lashes with several coats of mascara and a strip of falsies on the outer corner. This last one is optional, though the eyelashes are really important for achieving the allure of this look.
-Caramel blush on the apple of the cheeks, slightly blended outwards.
-The lipstick is very difficult to type. On some pictures it looks natural pink but on others it looks like an expensive cherry chapstick or something.

And the accesories for the show were just as gorgeous. I specially fell in love with the sunglasses and the earrings (I'm really into big earring lately):

With Gossip Girl´s finale last week I was left with a blank space within myself. I mean, what am I supposed to do on my study-time now?? Study??
Anyway,overlooking her occasional, seriously off-character bitchiness and her Oh-look-!-this-sequined-bikini-is-JUST-PERFECT-for-meeting-the-Queen-! attitudes I simply love Serena. How can we not? She's just too pretty.

Now with Blair. And this character has really grown in myself. Sure, she can be a conceited, obnoxious, EVERYTHING'S-GOT-TO-BE-PERFECT-BECAUSE-I'M-AUDREY-HEPBURN!-RIGHT?-RIGHT??!! snob at times (most of the time) but she really does have a good side and she can actually be a great friend to Serena when she is not envious or trying to destroy her.
I´m not really into her daytime wardrobe because she usually likes anything a 50s housewife could have worn, but I just can't help but adoooore her evening choices.

The whole Bar Mitzvah scene made me laugh and cry at the same time. And Blair's Marchesa dress is one of this season's best (in my opinion).

This MUST be one of my absolute favorites. Just adore Isabel Lucas and how she adds a whimsical accesories to an otherwise simple (Well, compared to the general preference of the guest for Alexabder Mcqueen) outfit and takes it to a whole new level.

Hailee Steinfeld is quickly becoming one of my favorites, this gil is full of promise!

Just looove how all these Marnis look together.

The genes, the Marchesa gown and Orlando Bloom... some girls just have all the luck!

Daria Werbowy photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin on March 2011's issue of Vogue Paris, namely Carine Roitfeld's À-revoir-you-haven't-seen-the-last-of-me-Au-revoir-kiss-kiss issue which is quiet of a big deal.
I truly adore the editorial below, though I can't really tell why: the colors, the wacky prints, the fact that the model is wearing stilettos to the beach or maybe the fact that Vogue always manages to make editorials in fantastic destinations like, I don't know... ST. BARTS and make it look like Milk Studios.

I really wish Carine the best and hope this is definitely not the last we've seen of her. Bravo!

Well, if you are a fan of whoddunits and pretty movie costumes then this is the right movie for you!
What surprises me the most is that I hadn't noticed how much Kirsten Dunst looks like a silent movie star, almost like Clara Bow or something.

I just loved how everybody could be sitting there eating and suddenly someone would scream"EVERYBODY, CHARLESTON!", then everybody would literally, start to dance joyously.

And the flashback ridden ending:

"I've had a recurring dream recently. I am back on the Oneida, having a glorious time.

But I'm watching how ridiculous everyone else looks, and I wonder why they don't realize it. Then I see that in fact, I too look like a fool. Yet it's so much fun that none of us can stop. If we stopped, we'd have nothing."

   Let me tell you something: not posting is veeery exhausting.
   And don't roll your eyes just yet! I have an excellent reasoning: With all that free time, you may think that I would post more often, but oh no no... having free time is actually making it more difficult. Instead of doing the actual posting, I spend night after night wondering if those drafts are good enough. Can you believe it? It is ridiculous. So I've made up my mind: I'll let YOU, dear readers, decide wether the stuff I post is good or not.
   Let's start with my latest it-girl: Elettra Rossellini. She is Isabella Rossellini's daughter and Ingrid Bergman's granddaughter. And God, she's got it on her genes!
   I first got inspiration from this post, where my fellow blogger and friend showed this ad for Lancome's perfume Trésor in Love

and so I letted my musings go farther, aaand look what I've got :)

The other day I was checking out some photos of my latest girl-crush: Camilla Belle, that would be. I have always thought that she is authentically pretty and for me, her face is both exotically and classically beautiful. But that wasn't what caught my attention, I was paying more attention this time to the outfits. And then a phrase that my friend from My wonderland always says when I refer to celebrity/street style came to my mind: I liked the style, though not the clothes.
Yes, style and clothes are separate things with a relation that I compare to that one between editorial and picture. You may like one picture of the editorial, but the editorial as a whole, with the theme, the styling, the setting, the photographing, well... not that much. Or the same situation on reverse: you like the big picture but not quite as much the pictures as a separate.

I truly adore this girl below's style and I admire their great taste and extraordinary capacity to look their best (specially Diane Kruger's... did you know that she does her makeup and her styling aaall by herself?!) though there may be a dress or two that, let's say, I wouldn't wear myself ;)

Ooooh yes, it's couture season and we've got some new dress INSPIRATION (unless you are lucky enough to be able to buy and expensive couture gown, or even luckier, if you have someplace to wear it!).

Let's start with Valentino! Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli are geniouses. All classic prettiness with bows and kitten heels. We are talking about Valentino and, of course, the inspiration must be something or someone admirable, something that couldn't have possibly ocurred to any of us, poor uncultured people. Overall, something I will have to google later ...And the inspiration is... Wait, what? Twilight? Style.com called it "haute couture for the Twilight generation", "pitch to a much younger customer". Well, a pretty bow-y dress is something that any person from MY generation can pull off, so for that I'm thankful. On the other hand, if the fans were aiming for Bella's style, the shouldn't go as far as Paris, even the man section of the local GAP store will do. But if we were speaking about Alice... Well, that's a different story ;) (Oh, I love Alice!)

I adooore Alexis Mabille, but this show... mmmm... not so much. Although, I can't deny it had

Ok, maybe you've already jumped, danced around and died of awesomeness for the image above. And then, after loving it for the 100th time, you made it your wallpaper for about a month, until you got tired of it and then moved on. But the thing about extremely pretty images is that we often forget the possibility that they may be part of an extremely pretty editorial, and after googling Arthur Elgort, one more time (you can tell that he is my monthly obsession), I found out the really interesting fact that this case applies to that picture!

Another month another post!

Remember that I'm still out there, just watching all of your lovely posts (Though I don't comment that much lately) no reason to get paranoid. And we do have a reason to be paranoid (about earthquakes, at least).

A lot has happened in the past month: the Oscars (Zoe Saldana and Sandra Bullock were spectacular! Who were your favorites?), earthquakes, the end of the world, fashion week (Does Chanel really want to sell us Chewbacca costumes?), the death of Alexander Mcqueen (Rest In Peace), Lady Gaga's latest (rather disturbing) video,the day I discovered what to do with the rest of my life and the day I FINALLY watched the September Issue. I've come to this realization:

...And now I'm supposed to tell you 7 random things about myself, so, here I go:

1- Anyone who knows me, is entirely sure about one completely relevant thing: I love llamas.

2-People always tell me that I look JUST like *insert your random thing of choice here*. So, apparently, I look like the result of an eclectic mix of many MANY things unrelated.

Just to name some: Dora the Explorer, Bambi, Helena Bonham-Carter (which is not very flattering, last time I saw her in a magazine, she was proudly parading alongside her husband Tim Burton in the Worst Dressed People list), a koala, a sunflower, a platypus

3- You just need to tell me one song, probably I know the lyrics by heart and will explode in singing (and probably dancing).

4- I LITERALLY wouldn't kill a fly.

5- I have too many ideas, but it is hard for me to pass from the theory to the practice. Apply that to my blog: I leave so many great posts unfinished!

6- Since it will be pretty hard to be Grace Coddingtoin when I grow up (especially the part of being a model on the 60s, partly because I was born on the 90s) I will settle for being Abigail Lorick! And there are some posts to come about that ;)

7- Lord of the Rings and me, forever. And I won't say another word about that.

I've been wanting to post this Emma Watson editorial for a while, Isn't it marvellous? I tell you, that girl is great!

I'm so very excited about the World Cup! What teams(s) do you support? My country did not classify (but they were close!) so I will be supporting Germany and Brazil, because a) Somehow I'm related to these countries and b) They play very nicely!

Oh well, I'll admit it: When I listed among my New Year Resolutions "Be a good blogger" I was not sure what to expect. And I've faced the worst fear of every writer... THE "NOTHING" ("It was horrible! HORRIBLE!"). But I've got the greatest excuse: school (or Sweeney Todd!) ate my brains!
I know, I know there is no valid excuse (although, you know the Sweeney Todd one was pretty convincent) so , guess what... now that I got my mojoe back... *hold your breaths* ....I'm back blogging! *This is the part when you say YAY!*

And what motivation is greater than fabulous Carla? (maybe, fabulous Audrey)...

This Glee scene is absolutely and massively... how shall I put it?... Darling!

I'm no fan of Eliza Doolittle: I watch Audrey Hepburn's movies mostly to get a great dose of the class and charm that she exuded. And of course, Eliza is the contradiction of all these characteristics (just wait until you see her chewing the words and say "Garn!". It's just too strange watching Audrey doing that :O)

But I like My Fair Lady as the musical itself, the same reason that I watch Sofia Coppola's films: The scenario created by artistic director Cecil Beaton is très fantastique! So is the music (My personal favorite, lovely Freddie singing "On the street where you live"! I've got this theory of him being the perfect boyfriend: he's just happy to know that he is on the same street than his sweetheart! No stalking, posesiveness, jealousy or whatever)

So imagine how terribly divine was to watch this part of Glee! The bridal shop, the song... but it was mostly the dress that captivated me!

The dress is reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn herself. It includes a gorgeous cut, with gorgeous fabric and even more gorgeous back!

If you, like me, pretty much are willoing to buy the dress now, stick it into a time machine and send to your future self, wishing you will be this thin on your wedding day, then you can buy it here!

The quality is terribly bad, but I noticed that I couldn't get any picture of the whole front section.

Now, a little gift for my lack of dedication to my blog caused by problems with the Internet, or no-Internet-at-all (but Í'm sure you are all so tired of hearing my excuses!)

Please! Don't look at me with that face! I know, I know... I haven't been precisely "constant" with my New Year resolution of posting more often, but hey! still I'm not giving up ;) As I always say: "Rome was not built in one day".

Oh, gee! This going to be even more difficult than I thought! Specially after hearing various teacher anti-inspirational speaches and the schedule of calamities they got prepared specially (and with motherly affection)to us.

But I won't let this discourage me! I'm feeling utterly powerful and energetic, and it's divine!

Another thing that keeps me rowling down the river is the great amount of movies that come out this ths year I'm dying to see! Let see: there is Somewhere, Harry Potter, Eclipse (I will not rest until I see my he-wolf happy!) and let's not talk about Eloise at Paris!

I must express my Eloise love :) Oh darn, that movie has it all! The pink, the sunglasses, the kook, the dog, the turtle, the hotel, the illustrations, the Debutant Ball and goodness! the Dior! There is no dull moment, because, as Nanny said, "Being bored is not allowed".

So far, so good!...At only 3 days from the beginning of the year and 2010 has proved to be a blast!

People will never cease to surprise me, but what surprises me the most is that lately I'm surprising myself.

Isn't it wonderful? Not only blasts but 2010 has also bring me some wits too: you are only as happy as you want to be, just think about the bounding sheep on my last post:

If you feel bored, you can spice things a little bit! As I discovered that the other day: I was lounging in my bathroom at about 2:00 am, curiously I wasn't sleepy at all (that's really rare on me!) so I opened my cupboard an my view stumbled into a blue eye shadow (from when I was like 4 years old, it came on a bear package and all). So I thought: "hm... why not?". And started to make up my face like that one of a Na'vi (It's an Avatar thing). Too bad I didn't took any picture, but I can tell that you can achieve the same result by following this tutorial for a Mermaid's look:

You know one thing? That was real fun! Not so much for the part of cleaning my face later on (Those glitters are tough!), but the part of doing something spontaneusly and just for the fun of it.

Other thing that I've learned: it wasn't the band Opus but Mother Theresa the one that said "Life is life" and I can't agree more! Here's a piece of Mother Theresa's saying:

Maybe it seems very demodé by now, but hey! Happy New Year!

You might be wondering, what is that interesting thing that I have been doing that has been keeping me from blogging?
But there is no reason good enough to justify this neglection! I can just tell you that I've been trying to start the year with the right foot (If that's a metaphore for eating like crazy)!

No, no, of course I've done much more things than just eating like hum... watching Breakfast at Tiffany's ( which may be my definition of starting with the right foot...perhaps), going to the movies, having some poolside fun (I didn't got much inside the pool fun), and watching funny videos on Youtube.

I've also setted some resolutions to take the most out of 2010!

Goals for 2010

Get flexible. Like really flexible. By the end of the year I'll accept no less than full splits.
Learn to dance really well.
Let clear that I'm "young, single and loooves to mingle!"
Work on my charm and graces ;)
Travel.
Blog as often as I can and be more open-minded about the things I post.
Dress like I've always wanted to!
Improve my fitness, exercise more often.
Eat less (this may be more difficult than the full splits part!).

Well, time to get lucky!

The things that made my day:

I almost died of cuteness by how absolutely adorable this video is! The message: Sometimes you are up, sometimes you are down. Buy always make sure to keep your chin real high!... Did I mentioned that there is a bounding sheep too?

Did you know that an actual Barbie fashion show took place? Because I didn't! I really find it chic in a Barbie-sort-of-way.

(Anyone that knows me well enough, will notice that it wasn't the dress but the sunglasses that caught my attention, how lovely are these, huh?)

The other day I was watching Fame, not the apparently crappy High School Musical-like remake (I haven't seen it yet, but that's the impression I get from the critics), but the 1980's original and I must say that I'm completely dazzed!

I'm no expert in the matter, in fact, I love all musicals from the 80's! Don't they all leave you wanting to suddenly explode into singing and dancing? Well as for this one, it doesn't. It is just reaaally sad. In fact, the tagline should be : "Fame costs, now it's when you start to pay".
I didn't make it sound nice at all but it is really good! I promise!

As for my favorite scenes...

I just looove anything ballet!

And the "Hot Lunch", How cool is that?

And Damon+Vicky dancing around. I would have thought that they were strongly into crack during this scene if it wasn't the fact that he is a vampire. Anyway, J'adore when people dance around like they are on big dose of crack (and please, don't get alarmed! That is 90% of what Skins is about and still I'm not planning to take any drug at all). For some ridiculous reason, someone disabled the "embed" button on this video, I hope you are not too lazy to click here and watch it!

Other thing I've doing lately is trying to figure out who my favorite composer is because, in my opinion, everyone should have a favorite composer (believe me, you will need it for long nights of studying for Universal History mesual). So far, I like Vivaldi and Rachmaninov: Because a)Vivaldi makes me happy and b)Have you ever watched somebody playing Rachmaninov? If you haven't then i'll describe it as "man you've got some fast fingers"-like, a friend told me that his pieces are the hardest to play!

I must admit that I ike best the contemporary composers that work on scores for movies.
Such as Yann Tiersen (Amélie, La Valse de Amélie is a genius masterpiece in my opinion! I still have the theory that he writes the best music for rainy days) and Michael Giaccino (Up! that lovely Ellie tune is stucked on my head, and Ratatouille is very smokey-parisian-like).

Oh yes! I'd love a fair share of Twiggy lashes!

My darling darling blogger friend from Analytic Approach to Style dedicated me this editorial ( most especifically this picture) and I just love her for it! :D It's nice that somebody sees you in such wondeful editorial, visit her blog if you'd like to see the rest!

As for an one last gift: Other thing I'm loving is Eva Green, Ellen Von Unwerth and this mesmerizing editorial that came out from the union of them both!

100 is finally here!

Dear readers:
It´s my 100th post and I´d like to thank you all for being such good readers!
On my last post I received a comment, a person that maybe was trying to help. So she/he gave me a few advises and I´d like to thank her/him.
I know that as a blogger, not everyone will like everything I do. We all have some common interests (Sofia Coppola! Audrey Hepburn! pink!... anyone?) and let me admit ot, at first I took it as an insult but then, I realised that everything she/he said was right!: Dr. Harry Higgins would completely disaprove my ortography and gramatics (I can almost hear him say "You disgrace the noble structure of these columns" or "she´s deliciously low, so horribly dirty" :O), sure that I am aaaalways complaining, and the last hurtful truth: my blog is as monothematic as a monothematic blog can get to be.

It must take a lot of patience to hear me constantly bitching around, so in order to make my 100th post a new beginning, I´d like to promise (cross my heart and kiss my elbow!) that I will try to follow this advises, and any other advise that you´d like to give me, so I can get to be as good blogger and writer as I can ever get to be! And I hope that I make many hundreds of wonderful posts more and that I get a little bit better with each one :D as somebody said: Rome was not built on one day.

Well, I can start on my 101st post ;) for now let me enjoy one last post of the things that I like the most! 100 is an important number!

You know what`s reaaally difficult? Finding a spol on the parking lot of a mall on December 23rd.

You know what`s even worst? Doing the same thing on December 24th.

After a few sessiohhns of the parking ticket mashine telling us to be patient and wait because the lot is full (she won`t even give us a ticket! is that even possible? ), we cannot get in because the whole place is packed, then the car in the convenient spot right in front of us, with a the machine`s bar in between, leaves, desesperation, lot`s of yelling, insulting then praying and then, oh! there it is...*Requieñm for a Dream sounding* trying to get there, before the other cars notice, big nooooooooooooo, NOW, WHO`S THE BOSS?!

Thinking about it well, the 80s weren´t that hooorrible.
Is it me or editor´s feel like reviving the ghastliest trends ever?

I´m not so much against the decade, as I am against the shoulder pads and neon colors that stylist are trying to forcefully put into our refusing systems.
If you are going to do that, at least bring on the good things, like supermodels!

Goddesses or demons, artists or temperamental psychos; there is no doubt that they posessed the poise, the self-concious way of carrying themselves, the spoiled manners but overall, the savoir faire.

I am not saying that the Agynesses and Cocos of our generations do not have personality, cause personality they don´t lack at all. Maybe, we should blame the designers, that in an attempt to standarize the modeling industry, they took away it´s quality and brought on quantity.

Supermodels (like Miss de la Fressange) can make a fashion show seems more like a perfume ad, which makes me want to desperately buy whatever sack of potatoes she´s wearing ;)

Breakfast at Tiffany´s- The Play

Right as you heard, there is an actual play!

Trying to play the same role that Audrey turned into iconic without getting crucifixed is pretty difficult per se (you tell Jennifer Love-Hewitt). But even more than that: getting good reviews while doing it... it´s just outstanding!

The best part of it all is that Anna Friel doesn´t try to imitate Audrey Hepburn´s personification of Holly Golightly at all! Any person who has read the book knows what I mean: Even though, the book and the movie are very similar, and that the dialogs contain some literal parts from the book. The content, the ending and especially, the message are completely distinct. And that´s what Anna does: translate the vision of what Truman Capote truly intended it to be.

What Audrey did to Holly was neutralizing her sluttiness with that lovely regal charm, beauty and poise proper of herself. And I must say that it was for the best!

As you can see, the costumes are very 40s and Fred is gay, just as in the book!
By press reviews and screencaps, I can tell that it is pretty great ;)
